Warm and cozy beautiful cabin complete with everything you need whether you are seeking adventure or tranquility of the mountains. Spacious floor plan, large deck surrounded by Aspen trees and mountains. Walking distance from downtown Fairplay and just 30 minutes from Breckenridge. Enjoy summertime hot-tubbing and gold-medal fly fishing, and wintertime skiing or snowshoeing on the adjacent BLM land. It’s the perfect place to see the stars, observe wildlife, and reconnect with family.

The space

The space: Spacious floor plan includes one private bedroom and a large loft. The loft has one room with a queen bed and another area with a full futon. The cabin is a haven for kiddos, with special spaces for the little ones throughout. From two kid-sized chairs in the dining room to the tiny sheepskins for them to plop down on after a long day of play, to the upstairs lofts where the four-foot ceilings make them feel right-sized, they’ll love this mountain hideaway. Adult travelers looking for picture-worthy digs will find themselves equally at home among these lovingly decorated spaces, complete with upscale furnishings, colorfully appointed dining areas, and custom-built railings.

In the kitchen, you’ll find everything you need to prepare gourmet meals, including a gas stove, full oven, microwave, dishwasher, and three different ways to make coffee (we do love coffee!). You’ll find a full array of spices and basic cooking staples, along with everything you’ll need for clean up, including a disposal and a dishwasher.

There are enough comfy beds to sleep 8 people, but due to the overall size of the cabin, we recommend no more than four adult travelers, and no more than six total travelers (including children), as the upstairs loft spaces do not have private entrances or conforming ceiling heights. Each bed comes with its own down comforter and plenty of high-quality bedding.

If you’re working remotely while playing on the weekend, our high-speed wifi should provide everything you need for those zoom calls while you stay connected.

Outside, you’ll find a delightful wrap-around porch directly accessible from both the front door and the rear main bedroom. Outback, fire up a gas grill and gas fireplace for roasting those summertime s’mores and settle into our delightful seating area for dining al fresco.

We spend many weekends a year at this cabin ourselves, and we strive to make it comfortable for any family. Welcome to our home away from home!

Guest access: Take advantage of community amenities, including a laundry room, pool tables, Mini-Golf, and hot tubs in the summertime (all accessible with code).

Other notes: Parking is conveniently located near an exterior outlet so that you can charge your electric vehicle. Please note we only have room for 2 vehicles. Any additional vehicles much be parked at the clubhouse. No street parking!

The Neighborhood, overview:

Our cabin is in an eclectic community of log homes, park model trailers, RVs, and unique tiny homes, all surrounded by the beautiful whispering aspen that give this community its name. in the summers, we love to take a stroll down to Fairplay beach for incredible fishing and a scenic walk into historic downtown Fairplay. there, we might enjoy an ice cream or some fantastic Mexican food before heading back to the community for some time in the hot tub. we’ll stay up late for some of the most amazing stargazing imaginable, far from the city lights. in winter, we’re up early for a quick trip to Breckenridge, because the 30-minute drive to the city is always plowed and lightly trafficked, unlike some other routes to ski country. we will spend a day on the slopes, then stop by our local market on the way home for a bite to eat. then it’s time to settle in for some board games or classic movies on the DVD player. our dogs just love the walks in and about the hills around our little community, and we know your pets will love it too.

Getting around: The only way to get to Fairplay is by car. But once you are here, you can leave it parked, because there’s plenty to do within walking distance. Avid walkers will enjoy a trip to Fairplay Beach for fishing, and then across the Middle Fork of the Platte River to enjoy Fairplay’s historic downtown. Pop on the snowshoes that we provide (we have two pairs) and explore the BLM land directly behind the property. And, of course, there is amazing hiking just a 20-minute drive away.

Additional House Rules: No smoking of any substance is allowed on the premises. This includes using bongs. If you need to smoke while here, we suggest doing so on a walk or on the back patio, provided you give yourself time to air out before returning inside. Disposal and clean-up of any smoking materials used outside is your responsibility, and we will charge $50 for any cleanup of outdoor smoking materials. If we smell smoke or marijuana inside the cabin after you leave, we charge a $250 carpet cleaning fee and a $30 per hour cleaning fee to eliminate smoking smells, including the time it takes to wash walls and curtains.

Guests staying with children must acknowledge the cable railing on the front of the loft area as well as around the stairs and understand and accept the risks related to children potentially climbing the cables in the loft area. Guests must agree to supervise children in the loft area and sign a waiver.

Please note that the hot tub is available from Memorial Day to Labor Day only and is an asset linked to our community clubhouse. Renters agree to be courteous and cleanly, and to follow all posted rules when using the hot tub.

Note that the TV is connected to a DVD player only. There is no live TV service. The Wi-Fi can be used, however, to stream using your own Roku or Amazon Firestick, or the like.

We have very limited hot water (20-gallon tank). A strong, hot shower will last about 5-10 minutes. You can extend this out by keeping water pressure low. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour for the tank to reheat for the next shower.

Other things to note

We love dogs here in Colorado and your pet is welcome anytime! However we do have a few rules for your furry friend to follow:
– Please have your pet stay off the furniture.
– Please clean up after your pet. Please bag all waste.
– Please keep the barking and chewing under control
– Please do not leave your pet unattended.
– Please keep all your pets food inside at all times. Lot of wild animals in the area.
– There is a $40 per pet cleaning fee. This covers the cost of the extra steps our cleaning crew must take to ensure the unit is sparkling clean for our next guest. Please leave this on the counter upon departure.
